part of the Prince online community, and we offered them space on the

the TDC.Org staff in any way, well, except for coding and other small stuff, you know,
to make it look nice and pretty for our Motor Babies out there. DISCLAIMER .:|.
And now, the latest 777 Update, dated Wednesday, August 29, 2001.
"The news, not the bull ...."
Welcome to the latest edition of The Update. The 777 Update
is a Prince Fan Newz Update not affiliated with Prince Roger Nelson,
Paisley Park, NPG Records, Warner Brothers Records, the NPG Music Club or NPGMusicClub.com
in any way, shape or form. With that being out of the way, it has been
a silent past few months at Paisley Park so that is why there have been no
Updates since the end of June. Since Saturday, though, there have been a few
things that have happened and one that I wish I did not have to report on, the
passing of Prince's father, John L. Nelson. The Update is setting up a special email
account for people who wish to pay their respects. The email address will be posted after
the story & at the end of the Update. News Items will follow the
first story including the release of Prince's latest project, "The Rainbow Children". First, however,
our thoughts & prayers go out to Prince & his family.
John L. Nelson Passes Away
1916-2001
Prince's father, John L. Nelson, died in his home Saturday morning,
August 25th. The 777 Update does not wish to delve into this extremely personal
matter. So, instead, we will provide you with the obituary that Jon Bream wrote for
The Star-Tribune. Thanks to The
Detroit Crawl . Org for providing the link. You can read the obitary
here.
Much love and respect sent out to John L. Nelson ... JSeven.
For those interested in paying their respects to John L. Nelson, or
your comments, the Update is setting up a special email account. We do this in hopes
we will not be bombarded with mass emails thru our normal email address on the subject matter.
If you wish to make any comments or condolences, please email them to :
PrinceRogersTrio@Aol.Com.
The Update will see what we can do as to sending the emails to Paisley Park.
No guarantees will be made but we will try. Just so you know, this is not
affiliated with Prince Roger Nelson, Paisley Park, NPG Records, Warner
Brothers Records, the NPG Music Club or NPGMusicClub.com. This is set up for
fans to express themselves.
Prince.Org also has a page up where
you can send your well-wishes.
Newz item #1-" The Rainbow Children " for NPGMC members
in October
An email sent to NPGMC Members & a post was uploaded at Prince's official
website, the NPG
MUSIC CLUB. Both stated that the "controversial" (didn't we say that in
our review of the CD last update?) "The Rainbow Children" CD would be
available to NPGMC Members in October. Now Members should keep in mind that he
did NOT say available for "download" next month to NPGMC Members.
No word yet if it will be available for download or if it will be for sale to NPGMC
members first. It is a "wait & see" approach but at least for now it seems
October is the month "The
Rainbow Children" will see the light of day. To become a
member of the NPGMC or to find out more info, go to the
NPG MUSIC CLUB for more information.
The August 2001
downloads are now available on the site. Additionally, because of the seven-week break
between NPGMC uploads, the NPGMC has given Premium NPGMC Members an
advance opportunity to download September's tracks. All September tracks & the
WNPG 77.7 Ahdio Shows should be completely uploaded by the end of this week for the
premium members. Regular (monthly) members will have access to the September tracks on
September 15.
Newz item #2-Magazines ::
John Blackwell on the October 2001 Cover of
Modern Drummer
Prince's drummer, John Blackwell, is on the October 2001 cover of the US
magazine, Modern Drummer. The issue, which features Blackwell, also includes a small side-interview
with Prince on the intricacies drumming. For anyone who has seen the "Hit n Run" 2000-2001 shows
know full well that Mr. Blackwell is one funky drummer well deserving of the cover and
its in-depth article.
You can access an excerpt of the feature interview with Mr. Blackwell and Modern Drummer via this
link.
Newz item #3-Prince related artists
NEW releases by Shelia E
& Eddie M.
Sheila E. and The E Train released their new body or work, entitled
"Heaven" on August 28. If you cannot find the CD at your
local record store, you can try to find it at Tower Records.
Eddie M., a former member of the extended Revolution of 1986, released his
self-titled CD on August 21. Again, if you cannot find Eddie M.'s CD at your
local record store, you can try to find it at Tower Records.

The 777 update will be sending out an email sometime in the next
month to find ways to better serve you. We will be updating our
database again to include your location so when anything is announced
in your area, we can send out a special email letting you know about
these events. The Update is Global & is doing its best to make
sure you do not miss out on events. It will also make it easier for us
to have people contribute reports to us if needed. Again, this info
will not be shared with anyone else but the Update.
To be added or deleted from the 777 Update, or if you have any questions
or comments, please email J7 at
RolThaDice@AOL.Com.
Again if you wish to email us about John L. Nelson, do so at
PrinceRogersTrio@Aol.Com.
This is a personal matter and was only posted because we felt fans of Prince
would wish to know. Prince is and always has been a private person. We wish
to respect that as I hope you will too.
This Update is dedicated to the memory of John L. Nelson.
Again our prayers go out to Prince and his family. Also, we extend heartfelt
prayer out to the family members of Aaliyah and her staff who all died in a plane
crash the same weekend as Mr. Nelson's passing. Aaliyah was only 22 years old.
John L. Nelson (1916-2001)
Aaliyah (1979-2001)
Much Love.
